Our mission is to contribute to the empowerment of women through a specific focus on energy, and to engender energy policies for sustainable development in Nigeria.  The vision of the network is to become a strong network -with presence in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria, positioned to influence and mainstream gender concerns in energy policies and programmes in Nigeria.  Members work to achieve this goal through the coordination of information exchange and civil society strategy on improving the access of Nigerians especially women to clean and affordable energy. Our Network comprises over 20 organizations in the Environment, Health and Energy sectors with members from NGOs, CBOs, Academia, Government agencies and the Private sector. Friends of the Environment (FOTE) is the National focal point of NEN.
